Turn your slideshow into a video with Google Vids

Tover je slideshow om in een video met Google Vids

Google Vids is the new video creation tool that's part of the Google Workspace suite (alongside the well-known apps like Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides). Vids also enables real-time collaboration. It's specifically designed to help professionals and teams quickly and easily create videos, primarily for internal use (such as company announcements, training sessions, project updates) and marketing videos. For teachers it's an accessible tool for converting learning materials into videos in an instant!

The interface is very intuitive and similar to Google Slides, where you build your video with scenes. This makes it easy to use, even for users without video editing experience!

Getting Started

You can create the video yourself from scratch or (partially) use Gemini AI to generate a video concept based on a simple prompt or an existing Google Doc. The AI creates a first draft, complete with a storyboard, suggested scenes, a script, and music. You also have access to an extensive stock library with royalty-free stock photos, videos, and music.

You can record a voiceover using a built-in teleprompter to keep you informed of the script, or have one of the AI voices speak. You can also record your screen and yourself.

Turn your Google Slides into a video - and vice versa

When you create a new video in Vids, you'll now have the option to start from an existing slideshow as well. You can select the slideshow you want (or specific slides) and import it. Vids will then create scenes with the text, images, and elements from each slide. You can make additional edits, such as adding animations to your objects, etc.

Each slide becomes a scene, and the speaker notes are imported as a script for each scene. The reverse is also possible, so you can create a Google Slides from a video! Each scene then becomes a slide with speaker notes.
