Comments and suggestions in Google Docs
You write in Google Docs. You often use comments and suggestion mode for this. You write with Gemini. Perfect combination, because Gemini now also writes in Google Docs itself, with comments and suggestions.
Summarizing or improving content, you already knew how to do that. With these new features, Gemini can now also add its own responses based on comments in your document, saving you time and streamlining internal collaboration. In addition, Gemini can also examine the actual comments and their content.
For example, these are things Gemini can now do to help you as an editor:
- Review this blog post as a copywriter and provide comments focused on content clarity.
- Suggest document edits with an eye to structure.
- Summarize all comments from Sarah.
- Based on the comments, what are the unresolved issues?
- Rewrite the introduction to incorporate Roberta's feedback.
In a second step, you can also convert the comments into suggestions. You indicate which comments you actually want to implement and then give the instruction to roll them out. So, not only do you get the comment in the speech bubble "you could shorten this paragraph," but you can also push the actual text adjustment, all while maintaining a clear overview of the changes!
Help Me Write in Google Mail refined
Users can now edit and adapt their email drafts in Gmail via the prompt bar, using custom refinement instructions in 'Help me write'. Previously, the improvement options were limited to preset possibilities such as 'Refine', 'Formalize', and 'Shorten'. Now, if the first draft isn't quite perfect yet, you can give a more precise follow-up instruction in your own words to further refine the text. Finally, you get two nice arrows next to the bar to undo or redo the edits you made.
You can say a lot about Gemini, but oh boy, it gets the work done.
