Three cheers for the Drive, because with these three delicious additions it's a party alright!
Limiting sharing rights over time
You can now set expiring access to files and folders in shared drives directly from the share panel. With just a few clicks, you can ensure that temporary access is automatically revoked, eliminating the need for manual cleanup. This highly requested feature already existed in MyDrive, but now it's finally coming to SharedDrive. With this feature , you'll effortlessly climb another rung on the cybersecurity ladder!

Labels immediately visible in the folder
From now on, the applied labels to a Drive item will appear in all Drive views in the browser . Previously, users had to navigate to Details in the right-hand sidebar or open the file to see a document's classification. Now, users can see the applied labels at a glance when browsing Drive.
For items with more than one label, the highest-ranking label is displayed, and an additional icon appears next to the badge showing the number of additional labels applied to the item. Hovering over the label or badge displays the additional applied labels in a tooltip. Clicking a label immediately opens the Labels section in Details (on the right). Handy!

File Stream safer with ransomware detection and file recovery
This one might be more for the geeks, but at least as interesting as the previous two extras!
Two new features were added in beta to help organizations using Google Drive for desktop to help minimize the impact of ransomware.
- Ransomware Detection : File synchronization with "Drive for desktop" (formerly " Google Drive File Stream) is immediately paused when ransomware is detected. Users see a notification on their computers, and administrators see an alert in the Security Center of the Admin Console. Both also receive an email notification.
- File recovery : Users can easily restore their files to a previous version in Drive. You can select multiple files and restore them to a point in time before the computer was infected by ransomware.
How to get started? Ransomware detection and File recovery is enabled by default for users in your organization. You can enable or disable it at the OU level via Admin Console > Apps > Google Workspace > Drive & Docs Settings > Malware & Ransomware/ File recovery in Drive.
Install the latest version of Drive for desktop on users' computers (v. 114 or later) to enable the detection notifications (syncing will still be paused on older versions).
